Among the various social determinants of health, food insecurity has one of the most extensive impacts on overall health. To address this need, the RCWNY built an outdoor food pantry on the grounds of the parking lot, which is stocked regularly to help feed the community. The outdoor refrigerator and shelving unit stores meats, produce, bread, canned goods, and non-perishable food items. The RCWNY outdoor food pantry is supported by contributions from generous donors, volunteers, faith-based organizations, and corporate partners.
Indoors, our amazing community partner, the Community Action Organization of WNY, operates a full-scale food pantry that is open 4 days a week for residents in zip codes 14208 and 14209. Days and hours of operation are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10 am – 2 pm. On Saturdays, the food pantry is open from 10 am – 1:30 pm. The CAO food pantry, which provides access to nutritious fruits and vegetables, meats, dairy products, and much more, is generously supported by FeedMore of WNY.
