Catherine M. Roberts
President and CEO
Catherine M. Roberts is the President and Chief Executive Officer at the Resource Council of WNY, an essential community hub in the heart of the East Side of Buffalo, New York that has become a lifeline for thousands of youth, adults and families living in under-resourced neighborhoods. Catherine’s unyielding advocacy ensures that residents of all ages are connected to programs, services and resources, have equitable access to opportunities, and a voice in making Buffalo a better place to live, work and raise a family.
Catherine holds an MBA (cum laude) from St. Bonaventure University, a Bachelor of Science in Business, Management and Economics (cum laude) from SUNY Empire State, along with an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She has also earned a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University. To add to her credentials, Catherine is a Health Leadership Fellow and graduate of the Leadership Buffalo Class Experience program. She has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Economics at Houghton University.
She is a founding member of the Board of Trustees for Persistence Prep Academy and serves on several boards, including Board Chair of Leadership Buffalo, Vice-Chair of the Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo CGLI Council Member (Communities of Giving Legacy Initiative), Crisis Services Foundation Board, Colored Musicians Club of Buffalo, BoardStrong WNY Advisory Council, United Way Women United Advisory Board, Smithsonian Committee of WNY Women Making History, and the SUNY Empire State College Alumni and Student Federation Board of Governors.
Catherine is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Gamma Phi Omega Chapter and the Buffalo Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. She has also been named to Buffalo Business First’s Power 200 Women of WNY and the Power 100 Business Leaders of Color. She has also received numerous awards for her work and community service, and most recently, was named as a 2025 C-Level Executive Award from Buffalo Business First.
